“I needed to feel confident and determine my career goal and to feel that what I was doing is contributing to the ultimate goal that I want to achieve. Ascension Career Mentoring helped me visualize that goal in a concrete way and clearly developed a plan and stuck to it. I was re-energized and reassured and have achieved a number of the immediate objectives for my professional and personal life.”

“I have had my fair share of participation in mentoring programmes and when I started with Ascension I did not expect much, even though I wanted much from it. I was going through tough times with my job at the time and had a lot on my mind.

The first thing I learnt and was seriously lacking before was prioritization. Through the programme schedule and themes I also learnt how to be in control of my career and life. One statement that stood out for me was when Vera said to me “you are in control of more than you think”, this got me thinking hard on how to shape my life.

I was advised on how to restructure my resume and how to answer some classic employment interview questions. I used that learning when I applied for a position with Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) and got the job. I also started an initiative called Women Working Together (WWT) to fulfil my two passions: HIV alleviation and Women’s issues.

In only 4 months with Ascension I have been able to put my life back on track – thanks to the Ascension Programme. Ascension proved to me that mentoring programmes work.”

“As a young graduate I had so many dreams I wished to accomplish. I was so eager to enter into any career guidance programme and joined the Ascension Mentoring programme.

On my first interview with the coach I realized this was exactly what I had been searching for. The topics treated and the various workbooks and assignments made me realize how much I am wasting time simply writing down ideas and not acting on them.

Through the knowledge, skills and confidence I got from Ascension, I have now acted on my ideas and launched my dream of providing free mentoring program for young girls in Ghana by establishing the PAM Girls Advancement (PAMGAD) initiative. I am also self-employed. I have co-founded Pam Globe Ltd which is into marketing, business development and Events.  I am also now a supervisor for a research company organizing teams for various research projects.

I achieved all this only within the four months of taking the course. I am grateful to my friend who introduced Ascension to me to the coach Vera, who has helped me gain a paradigm shift as to what it takes to develop my career. From her approach, I learnt the importance of patience, tolerance, honest communication.”

“Ascension Mentorship Programme has been of great help to me. As a law student who has a very demanding school schedule, and trying to pursue a music career also, the programme has helped me find a balance between the two. It has helped me on time management and given me insight on what I should focus on in order to achieve effective and efficient results in my day to day ventures and ultimately my school work and career goals.”
